35mm Projection

At the heart of whether a small, three-quarters-of-a-century old theater will survive is this thing: a 35mm film projector.

35mm film distribution is set to end in the coming months, which isn’t to say a theater can’t play old reels of 35mm movies. To stay current, however, and to continue to bring new shows to rural locales, a place has to make the switch to a digital projection system. A costly undertaking when you include electrical upgrades, but one that the theater is hoping to bring to its patrons.
